[Quote] Patience is not enough you must seek the reward / Explained by Shaykh Uthaymeen

Shaykh Uthaymeen said (1): In some instances a person is patient when a calamity befalls but they do not anticipate the reward. In this case the calamity will be atonement for their sins. But if their patience is coupled with anticipating the reward, the calamity will become atonement for their sins and they will receive the reward.

Shaykh Uthaymeen said (The Prophet peace be upon him said):

مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ

Whoever fast the month of Ramadan having faith and anticipating the reward, he will be forgiven for his previous sins. (Sahih al-Bukhari 2014)

The meaning of ‘having faith’ is to believe that Allah has obligated it and to believe in the reward that comes with fasting. The meaning of ‘anticipating the reward’ is that the person anticipates receiving his reward from Allah for fasting this month.

All of us pray and fast Ramadan, but does it cross our hearts that we intend to receive the reward from Allah by doing so, and this reward will be stored for us with Allah? Most of the people are heedless of this. Most of the people only want to perform the obligation while the reward does not cross their mind. The affair of the worshipper anticipating the reward is
very important. For this reason the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم restricted this
great reward for the person who fast Ramadan if he fast while having faith and anticipating the reward; and this is not for the one who fast out of habit.

[Quote] Be Patient with Your Spouse and Seek the Reward from Allāh

It was said to Abū Uthmān An-Naysabūrī : What from your actions is most valuable to you?

He said: I was in my youth and my family was striving hard to convince me to marry
but I refused. A woman came to me and said: 'O Abū Uthmān, indeed I am
infatuated with you. I ask you, by Allāh, to marry me.' So I went to her father,
who was poor, and he married her to me and he was very happy with that. When she
entered upon me I saw her and she was cross-eyed, cripple, and deformed.

Due to her love for me she would prevent me from going out so I would sit with her
to soothe her heart and I didn't display to her any aversion, yet it was as if I was
burning due to the aversion which I had for her. I remained like this for fifteen
years until she passed away.

There is none of my actions that I hope to preserve more than my (action of)
preservation of her heart.

[Quote] Reasons for an Increase & Decrease of Prices

Following The Sunnah 'Collection of Beneficial Statements #6'

Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah

Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya

'Products become expensive due to an increase in prices and are cheap due to a decrease of price. These two aspects are from the general  occurrences which have no creator except Allaah Alone.

None of those things can occur except by Allaah's permission and His capability. However, Allaah -Subhanahu- may place some of the actions of the slaves of Allaah as reasons and means for some occurrences. Just as like a murderer killing someone is the reasons for a death to occur.

Allaah causing an increase in prices could be due to the slaves of Allaah oppressing one another and the decrease in prices could be due to some people being good to others'. [Majmoo al-Fatawa 8/519]

[Fatawa] Should I post about my newborn baby on Facebook? / Shaykh ‘Abdul-Muhsin Al-‘Abbād Al-Badr

Shaykh ‘Abdul-Muhsin Al-‘Abbād Al-Badr

Question: O Noble Shaykh, may Allah treat you well; I was blessed with a child. Is it permissible for me to spread the news of that via the internet or Facebook so that Dua can be made for him?

Answer: Not at all! Do not do this. You make Dua for him; his family is to make Dua for him. Do not busy yourself with these affairs. Everyone who has a child is going to post about it on the internet?!
